MC Management, Inc. is a boutique firm for middle-market M&As based in Japan. Since its inception in 2002, MC Management has provided financial advisory services to international and domestic clients in the Japanese market.
The focus of the advisory service is M&A transactions with Japanese companies with typical revenue between USD 1-50 million. Clients include not only small and medium-size companies but also international and large Japanese corporations. Members of the company have extensive experience working with major corporations and financial institutions.
More than 70% of our business occurs on the buyer side of M&A advisories, including acquisition target searches (deal sourcing). In the process of identifying targets to negotiate, we compile a list of candidates from outside sources, make initial contact through written letters, and follow up by telephone. The majority of buyer-side clients are international corporations who wish to expand their business in Japan.

Masahiko Hirayama, President
Mr. Hirayama is a founder and a president of MC Management, Inc. He has been involved in the fields of M&A and private equity investment for 25 years. Prior to founding MC Management, he worked with The Carlyle Group for venture investment and as the Tokyo representative for Morgen, Evan & Co., a boutique M&A advisory firm based in New York. His previous employers include Merrill Lynch, Baring Brothers and Citibank.
Mr. Hirayama received his BA in international economics from Aoyama Gakuin University and his MBA from the Anderson School at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).
Yoshito Yamaguchi, Senior Adviser
Mr. Yamaguchi is a senior adviser of MC Management, Inc. He worked for Mitsubishi Electric for over 40 years and served in multiple senior management positions, such as Senior Managing Director of Mitsubishi Electric and President/Chairman of Mitsubishi Electric USA.
Mr. Yamaguchi received his BA in law from the University of Tokyo and completed a senior management program at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
Naosumi Baba, Senior Adviser
Mr. Baba is a senior adviser at MC Management, Inc. He worked for Miyazaki Bank for over 40 years, mainly in the planning and human resource department. Prior to retiring from Miyazaki Bank, he served as Senior Managing Director. He also worked for Solaseed Air, Inc. as an auditor,and Sogo Medical Co., Ltd. as a senior adviser.
Mr. Baba received his BA in law at Aoyama Gakuin University.
